Hot Pick 🔥 From prisons to parties
Cockatoo Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site, sits in the middle of Sydney Harbour and it's steeped in history. Between 1839-1869 it was a prison for convicts who had re-offended in the colonies. Then it was a shipyard (guess who built its first dry dock?) and now it's a heritage site because of its maritime significance. But don't just go for the history! Cockataoo Island is also a party place with festivals and events all year round. And if glamping's your thing, there's no spookier place to do it.
